I spent a few hours with photographer Stefan Hard, an old friend and colleague, chasing after the fall colors in the Groton and Marshfield region of central Vermont last week.
Stef and I met working for the Times Argus when we were both pretty green. We rented an apartment together, and spent a pleasant three years together eking out modest livelihoods as freelancers, until jobs and relationships drew us in different directions.
We continued to stay in touch, and worked together occasionally.
With me making the jump from journalism to video, there’s an awful lot I can learn from him. And we had a great time. We brought way too much equipment with us. We jawed on and on about photo geekery, all the while motoring around deserted backroads looking for the spectacular splashes of color.
Gotta do this way more often!
